Dear Friends,
We must always remember that our freedoms are not free and there are men and women serving in harms way to protect those freedoms. I saw that first hand as I took the first opportunity I could to visit Iraq and Afghanistan over Easter break.
I not only commend the sacrifice of our men and women who serve overseas, but we should not forget the families that they have left at home as well.
Supporting our local heroes' bravery and sacrifice is common sense. That is why I am troubled with the Paso Robles Post Office's removal of pictures honoring the sacrifice of our brave men and women serving in the Armed Services.
We should honor the sacrifice of our troops and I am committed to supporting all our brave soldiers, sailors, marines, and airmen; both serving or who have served our country.

I am the author of legislation that will institute a “pay as you go” approach for funding much-needed infrastructure projects across California – a plan to build now, build more and spend less.
This legislation, ACA 27, is the fiscally responsible way to pay for improvements to California’s aging highways, crumbling levees and crowded universities … without raising taxes or fees on working families.
And to make sure each dollar is stretched to the fullest, I am supporting a package of reforms to make the state’s construction process more accountable and efficient.
Continuing the Leadership.
